I’m just gonna come right out and say it: Republicans are asleep at the switch.



I’m relieved Matt Van Epps won yesterday’s special election, but it was too
close for comfort. One small gust of wind and we could have sent a homegrown
Marxist to represent Middle Tennessee in Congress.

Here’s the part nobody wants to talk about: The Democrat who almost took this
race was educated in Knoxville—my hometown. She wasn’t shipped in from New York
or California, like they used to be.



Midterms are always scary for the party in power. That’s nothing new.



But last night was a warning shot from Democrats. They’re fired up, mobilized,
and ready to stick it to us. And if we don’t get some gumption, we’re in big
trouble.



So, let’s make a deal, JOHN.



I’ll keep fighting to keep Tennessee red, protect our conservative values, and
push President Trump’s America First agenda, if you promise to back me up.
