Last night, there was a special election in Tennessee that decided the fate of the 7th Congressional District. TL;DR: A Republican won.

But that isn’t the whole story: just last year, this district voted 22 points in favor of Trump. This election? The Democrat, Aftyn Behn, lost by just 9 points.

That is a 13-point jump — in a deep red district.

In fact, Republicans had to bring out Trump, the Speaker of the House, and Senators just to get folks out to vote in this deep-red district. Not exactly an inspiring win.

This shows us two things:

One: Republicans are scared. They’re bringing in the big guns on special elections because they know they can’t win without them.
Two: Voters are fed up. Once they learn the truth about what Republicans are really up to, they vote against them.
