A wolf is struck by a snowmobile, duct-taped, dragged to a bar for jokes, and
then unceremoniously shot.



Another is caught in a steel trap, left with its leg crushed, starving in the
cold for days until the trapper returns.



Overhead, a helicopter hovers above the treetops, its rifle sights tracking a
fleeing pack until the wolves finally lie still in the snow.



This isn’t hypothetical policy -- these are Wyoming’s wolf hunts. All legal,
all encouraged and all done to an endangered species.



That’s why we’re building support to urge Gov. Mark Gordon to put an end to
Wyoming’s cruel wolf hunts.

In most of Wyoming, wolves can be shot, trapped or run over without a license,
permit or limit.



The moment they step beyond the border into this “predator zone” -- whether
from nearby Colorado or from Yellowstone National Park -- even protected wolves
lose every safeguard.



Wolves can be pursued and struck by snowmobiles, lured with bait, caught in
steel-jaw traps and even gunned down from aircraft.



These practices are unthinkable in most states. But in Wyoming they aren’t
just legal -- they’re encouraged.



Perhaps the most shocking example of this cruelty is the story of Theia.



Theia was a nine-month-old wolf pup who was struck by a snowmobiler in
February 2024. Injured and terrified, she was taped up, driven to a local bar
and paraded around for photos and jokes. Eventually, she was taken outside,
shot and killed.



This is the heartbreaking reality for gray wolves in Wyoming.

Wolves are intelligent, family-oriented animals that live and hunt in
tight-knit packs.



They nurture their young, protect one another and play a vital role in the
wild ecosystems that make Wyoming such a special place.



But right now, Wyoming’s wolves are being treated as pests instead of
important wildlife worthy of protection.



That’s why we’re calling on Gov. Gordon to end these hunts and start treating
gray wolves as the incredible and ecologically vital creatures they are.
