John — Trump just can’t stop attacking Ilhan.

First, Trump spent months going after Ilhan with racist conspiracies, leading to ongoing harassment and constant threats to Ilhan’s life and requiring us to hire our own security.

Then, Trump’s rhetoric over the last weeks has put a target on the backs of innocent Somali-American families here in Minneapolis who already face so much hate from the far-right.

Now, Trump is calling Ilhan “garbage” and adding that immigrants like her are “garbage” too. It’s disgusting and dangerous.

And more so, it’s a distraction from the fact that Trump’s first year in office has been a disaster. The cost of living continues to rise, millions are losing their healthcare, and ICE has waged a terror campaign in our cities. The American people are waking up to Trump’s incompetence, and he is desperate to create a distraction.
