As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rage across the country, eviction moratoriums are already expiring. This puts families at risk of being kicked out of their homes in the middle of a deadly pandemic.
Landlords must act NOW to prevent a massive wave of evictions in the coming days.
That's why we are demanding corporate landlords immediately stop evictions and cancel the rent!
COVID-19 and the economic fallout from the outbreak have further exposed the housing crisis in the United States. Millions of people in our communities are out-of-work or unable to make ends meet. They're struggling to pay the rent in the midst of a major and historic crisis. Due to centuries of structural racism and white supremacy embedded in the American housing system, Black and Brown people are disproportionately impacted by the housing crisis. |

The pandemic has left people around the U.S. unable to pay the rent or cover the basics, but corporate landlords--many owned by billionaires--have not committed to provide rental relief for tenants. In fact, over the last few months, some of the largest private equity and real estate companies in the United States have continued to file eviction cases. These include Greystar Real Estate Partners, led by CEO Bob Faith, Starwood Capital, led by CEO Barry Sternlicht, and more.
