John, as a valued member of this team, I want to be as transparent with you as possible: November was one of the worst fundraising months for our campaign. 

We fell behind on our fundraising goal – further than we expected – and now we're entering December with a lot of needed ground to make up. 

My intention is not to sound the alarms or pretend the sky is falling. The campaign continues. The work continues. The fight continues.

But here's the reality: If we continue to come up short on our goals month after month, it will be the difference between having the resources to reach enough Texas voters or not – and that will be the difference between winning or losing this race. 

That's why I'm personally asking you to help kickstart our December fundraising: Will you chip in $5 or whatever you can to my campaign today so we can start catching up on our goals and not waste one of our best opportunities in decades to flip Texas blue?

The truth is that Ken Paxton and national Republicans raised millions from corporate PACs, dark-money groups, and billionaire-funded networks. 

I refuse to fund my campaign with support from special interest groups that make it harder for working families to get by. That's why I won't take a dime from shady corporate PACs or special interest groups trying to buy influence.

But that means our path to victory is funded entirely by people like you.

Most folks who read this email won't donate – and that's okay. Times are tough and the holiday season is right around the corner. But if you are someone who believes in actually addressing the affordability crisis we're facing and electing someone who will fight for working families, then I need you now more than ever.
