Skills Beyond the Protest: Online Non-Cooperation Training by 50501SF
Our friends at 50501SF, in partenrship with Grassroots Democracy Initiative, are holding a training on noncooperation as a method of taking down the MAGA regime. Presented by one of the 50501SF lead, this training will cover how we got here, what makes this an authoritarian moment, how people in other moments of history have defeated their regime, and what that can look like for us.
Join the virtual noncooperation training TODAY, December 3, at 6 PM. Register on Zoom. ([link removed])
Unmasking ICE: Political Education & Digital Rights Training with Bay Resistance
ICE has been at the forefront of the Trump regime's efforts to kidnap and abuse immigrants, silence dissent, and invade "Blue" cities. Join Bay Resistance and others for a political education and training session, where they will analyze changes to ICE infrastructure and practices and what they mean for our efforts to stop US authoritarian rule. We'll also discuss how ICE works closely with tech companies to surveil and enforce its violent program and what we can do to defend ourselves and our communities. This event will be today, Dec 3 at 6:30 PM. Register here. ([link removed])
** Stand Up for SF Campaign for the “Overpaid CEO Act” to tax corporations kicks off Dec 6
------------------------------------------------------------
Donald Trump’s Big Ugly Bill threatens patients in our hospitals, seniors counting on long-term care, and all of our essential services. It’s one of the largest transfers of wealth from the poor to the rich in American history. But we can fight back. If passed, the “Overpaid CEO Act” will tax the biggest corporations with the most extreme pay gaps so that we can pay for and protect critical services in San Francisco.
Indivisible SF is a cosponsor of the Stand Up for SF coalition‘s “Overpaid CEO Act” and you can help us make sure it qualifies for the ballot by canvassing with us this Saturday, December 6.
To support this crucial union- and community-organization-led effort to ensure that the wealthiest corporations pay what they owe, join us on December 6 to talk to voters and collect signatures.
Breakfast provided at 9:30 AM, with canvassing starting at 10 AM at the SEIU building, 1021 Union Hall, 350 Rhode Island St., Suite 100.
RSVP on Google Forms ([link removed]) to hear from special guest speakers and learn how to be part of the campaign.
** Breaking people away from MAGA: A Circle Conversation at Bernie’s Cafe on Dec 8 at 7 PM
------------------------------------------------------------
Join our Judiciary lead and Town Square for Democracy for a living room conversation on how to engage with a fracturing MAGA coalition.
Join us at Bernie’s Cafe at 3966 24th St on Monday, December 8, 7 PM - 8:30 PM.
Our Judiciary team, along with Town Square for Democracy, have been working hard on encouraging our judges and institutions to stand up to Trump. This team is also working on how to approach and convince our neighbors who may have been fooled by MAGA. We always want to grow the numbers of people actively resisting the Trump regime, and we also need to decrease the number of active MAGA supporters.
Now, with the ongoing pain the Trump administration is causing across the board with the economic damage of tariffs, the deadly toll of warmongering, the protection of child predators in the Epstein Files, and other abuses, we are seeing cracks in the MAGA coalition.
We’ll discuss what is happening, how we can talk to the people in our lives who are still inside the MAGA orbit, and how we can maintain our values and protect ourselves while inspiring change.
Space is limited, so reserve your spot on Eventbrite ([link removed]) .
** Join us for our Holiday Party on Saturday, Dec 13 at 3 PM at CANA
------------------------------------------------------------
What a year. Come join us to uplift joy in resistance, celebrate our wins, and gather strength for next year.
On Saturday, December 13, at 3 PM, we will host a holiday party for all our members at our general meeting space, 683 Florida (near 19th St). CANA, the organization who owns the space, will be hosting a toy drive, so bring a new toy if you can.
As always, all are welcome. Join us for drinks, food, and some actions to close out our year!
Space is limited, so RSVP on Eventbrite ([link removed]) .
Due to the holidays, we will not be having a general meeting this month. Our regular general meetings will resume in January 2026.
** Keep Pushing: Tell your MoC’s to Allow States to Regulate Artificial Intelligence
------------------------------------------------------------
Congressional Republicans are trying to "effectively ban state AI regulation" ([link removed]) by sneaking language into the must-pass annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Before a House committee vote next week, tell them no!
Following California's lead, states are regulating artificial intelligence technologies ([link removed]) , but President Trump and certain congressional Republicans are trying to stop them. A similar provision to preempt state AI regulation was defeated in July ([link removed]) (by a 99-1 vote!). This month, the Trump administration drafted a legally-dubious executive order ([link removed]) . Now, Trump has turned to congressional Republicans ([link removed]) to ram this through.
Call your Members of Congress and tell them: ([link removed]) allow states to regulate AI!
AI technologies are also a good topic to discuss at holiday gatherings with family and friends. AI safety is a less partisan issue, so it's easier to have a productive conversation.
Some things you might want to include in your discussion:
* Education on how advanced and dangerous AI tools are, including specific capabilities and harms
* Concerns about Big Tech's recklessness and corruption
* Framing the federal government's actions as violating states' rights (to experiment with AI safety regulation)
** Submit a Public Comment to Oppose the MAGA Regime's Offshore Oil Drilling Expansion
------------------------------------------------------------
The MAGA Regime recently announced an enormous expansion of off-shore oil drilling along the California, Alaska, and Florida's coasts. Overturning President Biden's previous policy, the Trump scheme will open up 1.27 billion acres (almost 2 million square miles) of our coastal waters to oil and gas drilling and extraction.
This assault on our environment will result in massive increases to the greenhouse gas emissions that are already spiking the global warming climate crisis. The MAGA Regime is also revoking and weakening environment and health regulations while slashing and dismantling the EPA and other agencies that protect the public. As history has shown, that means more oilwell blowouts, drilling-rig fires, and pollution spills along our coastline as the fossil fuel industry cuts corners to expand their already obscene profits.
And as history has also shown, while Washington speaks of "selling" and "leasing" these public waters, in fact the oil cartels actually pay just cents on the dollars of their true value, reaping vast profits from "sweetheart deals" that provide the public nothing of value.
Register your opposition ([link removed]) to this attack against our environment, our health, and our safety.
And read more about it on our blog ([link removed]) .
** Support Courageous Judge, Jia Cobb, Who Is Standing Up Against Trump
------------------------------------------------------------
Under great pressure and despite threats to themselves and their families, there are strong, patriotic judges holding up the pillar of the Judiciary against the MAGA regime’s fascist attacks.
On Thursday, November 20, 2025, Judge Jia M. Cobb temporarily blocked the Trump regime from keeping more than 2,000 members of the National Guard deployed to the streets of Washington, DC, finding that the city was likely to succeed in arguing the deployment was illegal.
Trump’s attempt to put the National Guard in a policing role is in violation of the Posse Comitatus Act and is not normal or legal. Trump put the National Guardsmen in danger by deploying them to DC without a goal and without proper training. The deployment is also intentionally incendiary—the National Guard should be used to resolve crises, not create and inflame them.
Our support is heartening to the judges who are standing up against the Trump administration. Support Judge Jia Cobb by joining the judiciary group’s postcard writing campaign ([link removed]) .
** Mutual Aid: Save Christmas for Trans Youth
------------------------------------------------------------
If you would like to make a transgender person’s day during the holidays, you can become a Secret Santa for one in need by going to Transanta.com ([link removed]) . Transanta is a mutual aid organization that collects Amazon Registry Wish Lists from trans kids who need help. The wish lists have items in a range of prices so you can make selections that accommodate your financial situation. Read our blog ([link removed]) to see how you can help a child in need.
The Transanta program uses Amazon for purchasing and sending gifts. As the national “We Ain’t Buying It” boycott ended on Cyber Monday, you needn’t feel like you are breaking the boycott by ordering from Amazon. If you would rather not use Amazon to support trans youth, we have alternative options listed in the blog post ([link removed]) .
** Volunteers Still Needed for Small Business Know-Your-Rights outreach trainings
------------------------------------------------------------
The campaign to protect vulnerable workers across San Francisco from violent raids by federal agents and strengthen solidarity among merchant associations and chambers of commerce is gaining momentum—but it won’t continue without your help!
Researchers at the UC Merced Community and Labor Center found that during June 2025 alone, large-scale immigration raids in Los Angeles and other urban areas caused a 3.1% drop in statewide labor participation, meaning roughly 465,000 fewer Californians reported working that week. This wave of raids included dozens of operations across small businesses like carwashes, restaurants, and clothing shops, particularly in Los Angeles and Central Valley agricultural hubs. Other urban areas may soon follow, and San Francisco is a potential target.
San Francisco is home to approximately 7,000 storefront businesses and 35 Merchant Associations, and we need more people power to reach them all. Your participation can make a real difference.
Join a one-hour volunteer canvassing training to prepare for outreach in neighborhoods across SF, including: Embarcadero, Excelsior, Bayview, SoMA, Castro, Hayes, Lower Pac Heights, Haight, Noe Valley, NoPa, Sunset, Richmond. You’ll learn how to register small business owners for a free, confidential legal rights training focused on what to do during federal agent raids, workplace protections and rights, and the legal responsibilities of business owners.
Please register for a one-hour volunteer training session. Sessions are offered:
* Every Other Tuesday, 5:30 - 6:30 PM ([link removed] ([link removed]) )
* Every Wednesday, 12:00 - 1:00 PM ([link removed] ([link removed]) )
Once you are trained to canvass, you are welcome to canvass on your own, with a trained buddy, or join Jobs With Justice's weekly canvassing team events, held every Wednesday in a different location. For more information and to join the team, please email
[email protected] (mailto:
[email protected]) .
Invite your family, friends, and networks to take part. Help connect Merchant Association members to the Jobs with Justice Solidarity Campaign and build a movement to protect our communities. Please have your contacts email
[email protected] (mailto:
[email protected]) to find out how they can help keep SF’s small business community safe and strong.
