Our webinar about the #HandsOffSudan campaign to call for an end to the war in Sudan will be on Zoom on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. GMT, Dakar time.

The war in Sudan has already resulted in the devastating loss of more than 150,000 civilian lives and the displacement of more than 12 million people. The country is the scene of human rights violations, with widespread abuses particularly affecting civilians caught up in the clashes. The situation and the perspectives for peace will be discussed during the webinar.

Our speakers will address the following issues:

Suzanne Diouf Mbodji, the Co-Coordinator of the Senegal Chapter of World BEYOND War, which launched the #HandsOffSudan campaign, will speak on its progress
Manal Taha, an anthropologist, conflict analyst, and leader of the Women, Peace, and Security and civilian inclusion in Sudan peace processes, will give an update on the current situation in Sudan
Samba Baldeh, the Co-founder of Wisconsin Africa Trade and Investment Promotion concerned about conflicts and instability in Africa, particularly the current situation in the East, will explore the constructive approaches worth considering in the current context of the conflict in Sudan
Jalelah Sofia Ahmed, the founder and Editor‑in‑Chief of Kandaka Magazine (a platform amplifying Sudanese voices, centering women’s leadership, and documenting historical truth), will present an update of initiatives underway to end the war in Sudan
Guy Feugap, the Africa Organizer of World BEYOND War, will speak on the delivery of petitions and the next steps in the campaign.

La guerre au Soudan a déjà causé la perte tragique de plus de 150 000 vies civiles et le déplacement de plus de 12 millions de personnes. Le pays est le théâtre de violations des droits humains, avec des abus généralisés touchant particulièrement les civils pris dans les affrontements.
