PPL Electric – which serves all or most of roughly two dozen counties in PA – is trying to raise electricity rates on everyday Pennsylvanians so it can handle demand from data centers. 

They plan to build new infrastructure and upgrade the grid because data centers use massive amounts of power. But instead of making the data center companies pay, PPL is working to pass on more than $350 million in costs to families and small businesses!

If PPL’s request is approved, it could set a dangerous precedent for utilities across the state passing these costs onto customers while tech billionaires profit.

This decision is in the hands of the Public Utilities Commission. If they get enough backlash, there’s a good chance they will deny PPL’s request. 

Make your voice heard. Sign the petition telling the Public Utilities Commission not to charge families and small businesses for the data center boom.  

I bet you’re doing everything you can to lower your heating bills. At my house, we turn down the heat at night and when we leave even if it’s just for a few hours. 

If PPL gets its way, customers will see their bills go up by another $150 a year! That means we’ll pay more and will still be cold and uncomfortable.

We must stop PPL from jacking up our costs even more. Please add your name to our petition urging the Public Utilities Commission to reject PPL’s request to increase costs for its customers.  

By coming together and getting loud, we can send a message that Pennsylvanians should not have to pay for the data center boom.
