Dear John,
This past November, we flipped 29 towns from red to blue and proved that when Democrats show up, tell the truth, and stand up for Connecticut families, voters take action.
But the next fight is already inside the messy Republican primary for governor.
Last week, I wrote an op-ed about what’s at stake in that race and the choice ahead for Connecticut families: Donald Trump, or Connecticut values, opportunity, and progress.
Ryan Fazio and Erin Stewart, the two declared Republican candidates for governor, have both sought Trump’s endorsement. They have stood behind his policies, the same ones that raised grocery prices, cut healthcare, and drove up energy bills for working people in our state.
Here’s an excerpt:
“You can't promise to lower people's costs while supporting the person who keeps raising them…Voters see through that…Connecticut deserves the truth. Just tell us where you stand and say it clearly. Do they still want his endorsement? Yes or no.”

Trump’s playbook has failed Connecticut families. His allies are running to bring it here.
Under Democratic leadership, Connecticut is moving in the right direction, and we are not turning back.
That’s the choice in 2026: more progress for Connecticut, or the chaos and cruelty we’re fighting to move past.
Let’s stay focused. Let’s stay engaged. And let’s keep building the future Connecticut deserves.
Thanks for being part of this work.
Sincerely,
Roberto Alves
Chair
