Sign On: Oppose New Public Charge Regulations

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on Public Charge on November 19, 2025 that—if finalized—could create fear, confusion, and barriers for millions of immigrant families seeking essential health, nutrition, and economic supports. PIF is coordinating a coalition-wide organizational sign-on comment opposing the 2025 DHS Public Charge NPRM. We invite your organization to join this effort and stand with immigrant families across the country. Read the comment and sign on via the link below.

Comment Resources: Public Charge Comment Templates

In addition to our organizational sign-on comment opportunity, we have created two comment templates. The template for service providers provides an opportunity to share the stories of what service providers are seeing on the ground. The detailed sector template provides a framework for organizations to bring their unique expertise and perspective to the issue. Find the templates and additional materials on our website below.

New Materials: Public Benefits and Your Rights

Changes to immigrant eligibility for programs and services combined with threats of data sharing and immigration enforcement raids have left many families confused about what services they are eligible to receive and afraid to access them. Our new family-facing resource, Public Benefits and Your Rights,  provides answers to common questions about immigrants’ rights when accessing public benefits. Get the resource in English and Spanish now on our site.
