Meet the pro-choice champions stepping up to lead in Palm Beach and Sarasota
Dear John,
Today, we’re thrilled to share exciting news about the growing slate of pro-choice Democratic women stepping up to lead across Florida. As we continue this work, your support helps ensure our endorsed candidates have the resources they need to run strong campaigns.
Ruth’s List Florida is proud to announce the endorsement of three outstanding candidates running for key local offices in Sarasota and Palm Beach counties: Jen Ahearn-Koch for Sarasota City Commission At-Large, Rachelle Litt for Palm Beach Gardens City Council Group 3, and Erica Whitfield for Palm Beach County Commission District 2.
These women embody the skill, commitment, and momentum we’re seeing from leaders across the state who are ready to fight for their communities.
⭐ Jen Ahearn-Koch is a longtime Sarasota resident and current At-Large City Commissioner, having also served as Vice Mayor and Mayor. With decades of community service and statewide recognition as a “Home Rule Hero,” she brings deep experience and a strong commitment to serving Sarasota’s residents.
⭐ Rachelle Litt is a 37-year Palm Beach Gardens resident and healthcare professional with a 46-year pharmacy career. A former councilmember and mayor, she is running again to bring her trusted, experienced leadership back to City Hall.
⭐ Erica Whitfield is a lifelong Floridian and public health professional who has spent her career improving community wellness, advancing student health initiatives, and strengthening partnerships across Palm Beach County—all while raising her family in Lake Worth Beach.
We’re proud to stand with these women as they work to build a stronger, more inclusive future for their communities-and for Florida.
If you’re able, please consider supporting our efforts to elect more pro-choice women up and down the ballot.
