We will be focusing on difference makers next Tuesday evening at our monthly Organize to Win meeting on Zoom. We'll announce a bunch of candidate endorsements, introduce the newest member of our organizing team, and highlight ways to make a difference in the midst of a rebounding pandemic and critical election year.
Register for the meeting and the Zoom link will be sent to you.
Our Zoom meeting next Tuesday will be only be a few days before some of Wisconsin's most vulnerable families could have their electricity and other utilities disconnected. Our Wisconsin Revolution has called on the state Public Service Commission to extend the moratorium on utility shutoffs due to COVID-19's recent resurgence. The moratorium is set to end July 25.
Rattling the PSC's cage about this got the attention of Milwaukee's CBS affiliate and got some light shined on what could happen in a matter of days to families hit hardest by the pandemic and the heavy toll it could take on their children if schools opt for distance learning for public health and safety reasons.
Please add your voice to ours and contact the Public Service Commission to request an extension in the utility shutoff moratorium. If the PSC does not act to extend the moratorium by early next week, we encourage you to contact the companies that provide you with utilities and ask them not to cut off power to people who are temporarily unable to pay their bills.
