I remember how it felt watching the results from last year’s election trickle in. Even after we held this competitive seat for the fourth time in a row — a real achievement — I didn’t feel like celebrating that night.

And I bet you felt the same way too.

Frankly, the damage we’ve seen here in Kansas and across the country has been horrific. Costs have skyrocketed out of control. Moms, dads, and kids have lost their health care. LGBTQ+ Americans are seeing their freedoms come under attack. It’s heartbreaking. And it’s a reminder that elections have consequences.

But as we all reckon with the consequences of that election, it’s important to remember: Elections can have positive consequences too — as long as we win them. We can protect our freedoms. We can bring down costs. We can clean up our government. And yes, we can even save lives.

Elections are about choices. And because I represent one of the most uncertain districts in the entire country, what happens right here in KS-03 over the next few weeks will have consequences — either positive or negative — for years down the line.

I want you to remember that feeling you had on Election Day last year. Because I know you’ll do anything to make sure you don’t feel it again in 2026.
