While many major corporations, law firms and individuals have been scared into silence by Trump, CREW has continued to fight against their lawlessness while we expose corruption and demand reforms.

In just the last few months, the Trump administration has taken sweeping and deeply troubling steps to weaken transparency, silence oversight and expand unchecked executive power.

* They’ve tried to hide how taxpayer dollars are being spent by removing public access to federal apportionment and spending data — the very tools that let Congress and the public track where our money is going.
* They gutted anti-corruption functions inside the Justice Department, slashing key watchdog offices and sidelining the unit responsible for policing political corruption.
* They launched a purge of inspectors general — the independent watchdogs inside agencies who investigate waste, fraud and abuse — removing them without explanation.
* They’ve allowed senior officials to openly violate the Hatch Act by using their government positions for political purposes.

And behind the scenes, they’re advancing “Project 2025,” which includes an effort to strip job protections from career civil servants so they can replace nonpartisan experts with political loyalists.

But Donald Trump isn’t the only one who’s been busy during the last year. Here at CREW, we’ve been working hard to track his lawbreaking and hold him accountable:

* CREW sued the Office of Management and Budget and won, forcing the administration to restore public access to federal spending information.
* We filed legal complaints to hold senior officials accountable for Hatch Act violations and to defend the principle that public office cannot be used for partisan gain.
* We sued the Department of Homeland Security for violating the Federal Records Act and Freedom of Information Act by failing to preserve text messaging data, and the National Archives for failing to enforce these laws.
* We sued DOGE for seizing control of key government functions without being transparent with the public about who they are or how they operate.
* And we recently filed a class action lawsuit against the Trump administration for its unlawful creation of “National Data Banks” that consolidate sensitive personal information across federal agencies and could be used to improperly remove eligible voters from voter rolls.
