Dear Friends,
The moment in which we are living requires our courage, and that is found abundantly by being in community. In days that are so fraught for so many people, as Room for All continues to witness to the affirming love of Christ, we are called to a dvocate even more.
From your phone calls and letters to conversations at our in person gathering in Holland, Michigan, this community has lifted me up as I became Room for All’s Associate Director this year. For all of your faithful, sincere support and gifts you have given, I am deeply grateful, and inspired to keep this sacred momentum going!
As we work toward the full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people in the life and ministry of the Reformed Church in America, Room for All is here as your hub of resources, support, and connection with other leaders. Our scope is broadening now, as we welcome our siblings from the Christian Reformed Church in North America, and spiritual care is paramount. We are eager to host more in-person gatherings and opportunities to be the change we want to see in our church, country and world– your gift makes that possible. ([link removed])
A monthly donation of any amount made to Room for All demonstrates your commitment to the journey ahead of us. We’ve refined our focus for 2026 to highlight resilience, hope & connection, and will bring the message of God’s full inclusion to General Synod. Starting in January, I will be part of an ecumenical team revisiting and revising the Building an Inclusive Church Training, an instrumental educational resource that helps congregations have the conversation about LGBTQIA+ inclusion. With your help, we will bring that and other learning opportunities to in person regional gatherings.
Exciting opportunities for broader movement work also await in the New Year, and there is power in our partnerships. Room for All is a member of the Collective of Queer Christian Leaders, where leaders from multiple Welcoming and Affirming church movements support one another and pursue interdenominational work for LGBTQIA+ justice. Our Holy Week action, April 14th in Washington, D.C. reached across theological divides to call upon elected officials to repent of their relentless attacks on queer and transgender lives. Newly formed in 2025, RfA is a founding organization within the Lavender Interfaith Collective. These relationships educate, inform and inspire me, and provide clear indication of the strength and reach inherent in our coming together.
This Giving Tuesday, and as we move through the end of the year, I celebrate how the light of Christ shines in each moment of connection. Your financial gifts are equipping us for stronger outreach and in person presence in 2026, and all the ways you support Room for All make everything we do possible. Every moment of care and solidarity brings hope that yes, a future of full inclusion is on the horizon!
