Hello!
This Giving Tuesday arrives at a moment unlike any we’ve experienced before.
Across the country, organizations dedicated to justice, democracy, and community well-being are facing unprecedented scrutiny and hostility from political leaders who want nonprofits to “stay in their lane”, as long as that lane doesn’t challenge power, expose misinformation, or mobilize communities.
Since taking office, the Trump Administration and its allies have escalated rhetoric attacking nonprofits whose missions they disagree with. They’ve signaled support for policies that would weaken nonprofit independence, undermine public advocacy, and silence voices outside their political agenda.
That makes one thing painfully clear: If we don’t invest in nonprofits that fight for transparency, accountability, and the public interest, those organizations may not be able to keep doing that work.
At Battle Born Progress, we are not backing down.
We are continuing to:
-
Expose harmful policies and educate Nevadans about what’s at stake.
-
Push back against misinformation designed to divide our communities.
-
Train volunteers, uplift community voices, and ensure the public, not political elites, shape Nevada’s future.
-
Defend the freedom of nonprofits to speak, advocate, and serve.
But none of this is possible without you.
Giving Tuesday is about showing that the people, not politicians, decide which organizations matter. Your donation today is more than a contribution. It’s a statement that Nevada deserves a strong, independent nonprofit sector that serves the public good, tells the truth, and stands up to pressure, no matter who’s in office.
If you value the role organizations like Battle Born Progress play in this moment, we need you with us. Every dollar fuels trusted information, grassroots engagement, and the power of ordinary Nevadans to shape the state we love.
Thank you for standing with us today and always. Thank you for recognizing the vital role nonprofits play in our communities. Finally, thank you for safeguarding a future where Nevada’s people — not political intimidation — determine the path forward.
In solidarity,
