Dear John,

Today on Giving Tuesday here are three reasons to contribute to GLJ and support workers around the world building workplace democracy and fighting corporate greed with a tax-deductible donation this holiday season.

1. Organized Workplaces Around the World are a Critical Foundation for Democracy.

As we reckon with rising authoritarianism, deepening inequality, and an accelerating climate crisis, workers and unions are driving the fight for a fair economy and for democratic principles globally. By making a donation, you have the opportunity to stand with those at the front line of this fight.

2. Building a Just Global Economy Requires All of Us.

Global Labor Justice’s work supports many, including garment workers, fishers, hotel workers, and seasonal farmworkers across Asia, Africa, and the Americas. At GLJ, we understand that, in the words of the Reverend Dr. King, “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” — no matter how faraway or complex workers’ challenges may seem, “we are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.”

3. GLJ is in this fight for the long haul!

Next year will mark forty years since our organization was founded by a diverse coalition of labor, human rights, faith, and policy leaders committed to lifting up fights led by low-wage supply chain workers and their organizations around the world. In those four decades, we have built a broad global network of labor and allies — enabling us to reach workers wherever the fight takes us — and carried learnings from victories and challenges into continued impact across projects and campaigns. With the coalitions and expertise we have been building since 1986, you can trust that your donation will reach its maximum impact.

Support our work into the next decade by making a tax-deductable gift today.

Protecting the enabling rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining is the first step on the path to securing a better future for all working people. Despite huge obstacles, low-wage workers around the world continue to organize for this better future.

Will you take this opportunity to stand with them?

With gratitude and solidarity,

Caitlin Hoover
Chief Operating Officer
