Support us today in the fight for freedom and dignity for detained immigrants

Dear Friend,
Today is Giving Tuesday, and this year it arrives at a moment of unprecedented crises for our immigrant communities. At Freedom for Immigrants, we hold firm to the belief that all people are worthy of safety, dignity, and freedom. Yet the federal government continues to expand an immigration detention system built on punishment, family separation, and systemic human rights abuses.
This administration has intensified practices we’ve fought for years to dismantle. We are seeing:
A record-high number of people in ICE detention
Previously closed detention facilities are reopening despite documented patterns of abuse
ICE is invading neighborhoods and abducting our loved ones, using violent enforcement tactics that terrorize entire communities
Oversight mechanisms hollowed out, leaving people in detention with fewer protections and fewer avenues to report harm
I’m not going to sugarcoat it. This fight takes immense resources, and now more than ever, our ability to show up for our people is dependent on your support.
Giving Tuesday was created to remind us that even in moments of crisis, radical generosity is a powerful form of resistance. When governments expand systems of punishment and disappearance, choosing to resource care, dignity, and community power becomes an act of defiance, and a necessary one.
Your Giving Tuesday gift helps our team meet this moment with the capacity and resources it demands. A gift today will:
Increase our hotline capacity to keep up with growing demand and directly support detained people in moments of crisis
Expand the production and distribution of legal, medical, and self-help materials, equipping people with the tools they need to survive their time in ICE custody
Bolster our organizing work with people inside detention and those at risk of transfer from prison to ICE, strengthening community power where the government has created isolation
Document abuse and government failures at a time when formal oversight has been intentionally dismantled
The conditions people face inside ICE detention right now are some of the most deadly, dangerous, and unstable we’ve seen in years. Radical generosity today ensures that people inside are supported, not abandoned, as this administration would like.
Please make a Giving Tuesday gift today. Your support allows us to respond with urgency and with care to each and every person who calls the FFI hotline from abusive ICE detention centers.
