One of our Global Partners based in Guatemala, Wuqu' Kawoq (or Maya Health Alliance), treats more than 10,000 patients and makes over 35,000 visits annually to homes, clinics, and community centers in Guatemala’s Central Highlands. Last year alone, more than 8,500 women received reproductive health services, including modern contraception.

Guatemala has the highest birth rate in Central America, and more than half of sexually active, never-married women have an unmet need for contraception. In addition to slowing population growth, women and girls who can exercise bodily autonomy are better able to maintain their health, raise healthy children with good prospects, and make key contributions to society.
