I work with the ACLU's nationwide network of attorneys and advocates year-round to protect First Amendment rights from governmental attacks – including by securing freedom of speech, a free press, and the right to protest.

Since President Trump took office, the ACLU has taken over 200 legal actions, including to defend First Amendment rights – and we're winning. In more than 70% of our cases, we have already successfully defeated, diluted, or delayed President Trump's anti-civil liberties agenda.

• The ACLU of Southern California, ACLU of Illinois, and ACLU of DC have all taken legal action to stop the Trump administration's attacks on our First Amendment rights to protest and report on law enforcement – in some cases winning key victories that stop the Trump administration from indiscriminately brutalizing journalists, legal observers, and protesters.
• We organized over 93,000 people with our People Power activist program and over 33,000 people joined our Know Your Rights trainings across the country to understand their rights to share information about and criticize law enforcement activity.
