Dear Friends,
On this Giving Tuesday, we want to offer something real and often missing from conversations about Florida: proof that we are still winning, and that Florida is far from lost.
Despite relentless attacks on our communities, our members, organizers, and partners delivered victories that protected families, strengthened democracy, and shifted political power across our state. These wins didn’t happen by accident. They happened because people like you invested in long-term, year-round organizing.

Here’s what your support made possible in 2025:
We stopped real harm and advanced real solutions.
Our members helped block 10 dangerous bills , ranging from attacks on voting rights and reproductive freedom to anti-worker and anti-LGBTQ+ policies. At the same time, we advanced legislation that created housing supports for foster youth, protected state parks, required landlords to disclose flood damage, and expanded opportunities for returning citizens.
In Jacksonville, community pressure defeated the Big Beautiful Amendments: stopping anti-immigrant, anti-trans, and anti-abortion care language from being slipped into the city budget.
We protected families from displacement.
In Broward County, after months of advocacy, we secured a $500,000 Eviction Diversion Program to provide legal defense for families at risk of losing their homes. When commissioners attempted to dilute the funds, our community pushed back, and won.
We took on corporate power - and won for everyday Floridians.
Working with Earthjustice and partners, we filed an alternative settlement to the Public Service Commission (PSC) that offered billions in savings for families and small businesses. Before the hearing, we mobilized the public to submit comments, and exceeded our goal of 350 submissions.
We built member-driven campaigns that changed local conditions.
This year, more than 200 members voted to set our top campaigns. Those priorities led to major wins:
* Clean Air Miami-Dade forced the elimination of the El Doral incinerator and moved the county toward a Zero Waste plan.
* Our judicial integrity campaign trained 120+ members to monitor courts and advocate for fairness.
* Coalitions in Central Florida defeated harmful amendments, making clear that people power still shifts institutions.
* And in Orange County, we helped secure two unanimous wins protecting immigrant families by blocking deportation-centered policies.
We delivered victories at the ballot box - across the state.
2025 saw voters reject authoritarian, Trump-aligned politics in places many claimed were “unwinnable.”
* Orlando: Tom Keen and Shan Rose won outright; Mira Tanna advanced to a runoff. Our comms program reached 46K+ voters.
* Tampa City Council: Naya Young won her runoff with 61% of the vote.
* Miami District 4: Ralph Rosado won with 55% through coordinated, bilingual outreach.
* Special and General Elections in SD15 & HD40: LaVon Bracy Davis and RaShon Young both won with strong margins.
* Digital outreach generated over 575K impressions across the state.
* South Florida Municipal Elections: More than 6,000 calls and 1,000+ doors knocked across Miramar, Riviera Beach, and Boynton Beach.
These wins, across regions and demographics, send a clear message:
Florida voters are choosing leaders who reflect their lives, values, and hopes; not fear or division.
We trained, mobilized, and grew our membership at scale.
* Nearly 200 people attended our annual Statewide People’s Assembly.
* 70 members met directly with Tallahassee legislators at Run The Lobby.
* 1,235 members trained in political education, base-building, and leadership.
* 200+ events supported statewide, with over 6,000 signups -- many joining Florida Rising for the first time .
And this fall, we launch our Candidate Pathway Program to build the next generation of Black and Brown elected leaders.
POWER THE NEXT VICTORY [[link removed]]
Every bill blocked, every election won, every member trained, and every family protected happened because supporters like you believe in a future where Florida’s communities can rise together.
But 2026 will demand even more resilience, more organizing, and more resources. And with your support, we will be ready. Help us protect our gains, grow our power, and continue winning for Florida.
With gratitude and determination,
The Florida Rising Team
