Dear John,

This Giving Tuesday, we’re thankful for community members like you who show up for people experiencing homelessness—families like Dawn and her daughter, Giana.

They had nowhere to go. They were couch surfing. Without a home. As a mother, Dawn didn’t know where to turn and was anxious not knowing where they’d land each night.

The Family Emergency Shelter was their first refuge. They weren’t alone on their journey anymore. A supportive team appeared—case managers, housing specialists—each offering courage, heart, and wisdom.

Transitional housing came next. Giana stayed in the same school and had stability. The path forward became clearer, wrap-around services helped with everything—securing an income, budgeting, healing. The team became their safety net.

Finally, keys to their own apartment in Permanent Housing at Families in Transition. Home.

Home isn’t just a place—it’s stability and belonging. It’s knowing you can hang a picture without fear of moving again. Their journey down that uncertain road led them here. And here, finally, was home.
