Southern Nevada just secured nearly $7 million in federal funding to hire, train, and retain local firefighters through the SAFER grant program — critical investments that will help Clark County and the City of Las Vegas keep our communities safe when emergencies strike.
Our firefighters put their lives on the line every single day. They deserve our full support — and I’ve fought for it every step of the way.
As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I’ve worked to fully fund fire safety programs like SAFER. That work is paying off:

$3,071,284 to the Clark County Fire Department

$3,757,393 to the City of Las Vegas

Earlier this year, $588,572 for rural firefighter support

And I’m leading bipartisan legislation to ensure wildland firefighters and smokejumpers receive hazard pay for all dangerous duties — including prescribed burns and training jumps.
But here’s the truth:
I’m one of the most targeted members of Congress. Outside groups have already been spending against me — earlier and more aggressively than almost anywhere else in the country. As one of just 13 Democrats representing a Trump-won district, I know they’re only getting started.
