It’s becoming increasingly clear that cannabis consumers are under attack. Legislators in Maryland, Michigan, and Minnesota increased taxes on retail cannabis sales, using consumers like ATMs to balance their budget shortfalls. Lawmakers in Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, and Texas led efforts to roll back voter-approved marijuana laws, treating cannabis consumers as targets, not constituents. And in Maine and Massachusetts, prohibitionist-backed ballot initiatives are underway to repeal legalization entirely.

We must remain vigilant in NORML's mission to end marijuana prohibition and protect the rights of cannabis consumers. That is why we need your help. We will need substantial resources to continue our state and federal advocacy efforts, and with you at our side, we know we will succeed.
