I’m usually not one for gimmicks and manufactured consumption events like Black Friday or, even worse, Cyber Monday, but Giving Tuesday is an opportunity for Americans to support nonprofits that work to make the world a better place instead of scoring the latest deal on Amazon. It is also the kickoff of our end of the year fundraising campaign.

It has been a long year. The return of Trump has been a rollercoaster of corruption and cruelty and we’ve been with you to cover it the best we can. We’re going to be here next year to continue the essential work you’ve come to expect from us, but we need your help to increase our capacity to meet the moment.
