It’s hard to believe, but women have only had the right to vote for 99 years! And it didn’t happen overnight. It took thousands of women standing up and fighting to rewrite the rules to win this hard-fought right. Now, we enjoy the right to vote but we still fall short when it comes to equality -- from the gender pay gap, lack of paid parental leave, and protection from sexual harassment, we still have a long way to go. Today, in honor of Women’s Equality Day, will you join by adding your name to my petition that demands Congress empower women by passing the Equal Rights Amendment and protecting our reproductive freedom? As a Latina, I’ve endured my share of attacks and I know just how hard it is to be a woman of color in our current political crisis. Just like our sisters who fought for the right to vote and then for reproductive freedom before us, we must all stand together now and raise our voices to get equal rights for all. Can I count on you to join me in building a future of opportunity and equality for all? Take a quick second to add your name to my petition so together we can harness this energy from around the country and leave our mark on the system.
