Every day, I see the toll that war takes on people’s mental health. But I also see something else — that even in the darkest situations, mental health care can restore dignity, HOPE, and the belief that no one is alone. That’s an example of what your support makes possible.

This Giving Tuesday, our President and CEO Rabih Torbay has set a personal goal to raise $150,000 to fuel our global mission — including helping teams like mine bring health and HOPE to families who have lost nearly everything. This goal means so much to me, too.

Nothing could have prepared me for my first visit to a mental health center in a war zone. Outside, the sound of shelling was constant. Inside, children were drawing, playing, and laughing together. It was heartbreaking to realize that this is their “normal.” But it was also deeply moving to see that joy, healing, and even the sound of a child’s laughter can still exist in these conditions.
