At Hunger Free America, we believe access to nutritious food is a basic human right. And while recent SNAP restorations have provided relief for many families, hunger is still here. High costs, wage gaps, rising rents, childcare expenses, and ongoing cuts to nutrition programs in several states continue to push millions of Americans to the brink.

SNAP helps—enormously—but families are still struggling. That’s why Hunger Free America continues to expand outreach, strengthen federal programs, and fight for policies that ensure no one has to navigate hunger alone.

* We address root causes, not just symptoms. We advocate for long-term solutions like wage increases, expanded program eligibility, and policy reforms that support working families.
* We guide families through complex systems. Our multilingual team has helped more than 50,000 people enroll in SNAP, WIC, and other vital supports since 2020—unlocking over $100 million in food benefits they were already eligible for.
* We connect people to resources fast. Our national database of nearly 50,000 food pantries, soup kitchens, WIC clinics, and meal sites helps individuals and families find nearby assistance quickly and with dignity.
* We build capacity nationwide. Through our AmeriCorps VISTA program, we place members in grassroots organizations across the country—expanding outreach, strengthening programs, and increasing access to nutritious food.
* We fight for systems change. When federal support is at risk or benefits fall short, we push back with data-driven advocacy to protect and strengthen SNAP, WIC, and other critical safety nets.
