Dear City Limits Community,
It is an honor to serve as a New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) Steering Committee Member for City Limits, amplifying the voices of NYCHA residents to shape media coverage, public understanding, and ultimately policy.
City Limits has long been a critical platform for in-depth reporting on issues that affect working-class and marginalized New Yorkers, and as a NYCHA resident myself, I know how vital it is for our perspectives to be included at the decision-making table.
As a lifelong public housing resident and advocate for public housing communities, I have dedicated myself to preserving and uplifting the narratives of those whose stories too often go unheard. My presence on this committee ensures that resident voices are not only represented, but centered, to help guide City Limits in its mission to inform the public and hold institutions accountable.
Being part of this committee gives me the opportunity to shape how our communities are portrayed, to support journalism that reflects our realities, and to contribute to a broader movement for transparency and justice in housing.
I am proud to take on this role and to continue working toward a city where every resident feels seen, heard, and valued.
Sincerely,
Nahisha McCoy
City Limits NYCHA Steering Committee
