[link removed] We’re running out of time, Friend. Hundreds of people from around the country have stepped up today for Giving Tuesday, but we’re still running short of the 1,000 members we need to unlock an additional $100,000 for our work before midnight tonight. And with the Trump administration accelerating some of the most extreme anti-environment, pro-polluter attacks in modern history, falling short is simply not an option. We’re asking you, Friend: will you renew your LCV membership right now while membership is only $5 to help us unlock an additional $100,000 to oppose the Trump administration’s attempts to exploit our public lands and roll back climate progress? [link removed] This isn’t just about hitting a number. It’s about having the resources we need to challenge these increasingly reckless orders and attempts to shred environmental safeguards — and stop the polluter handouts that Trump and his allies are fast-tracking. RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP >> [link removed] Every single person who steps up today is critical to our efforts — here’s why this Giving Tuesday is so important: Trump is trying to erase the scientific and legal foundation of climate action. By dismantling the Endangerment Finding, which affirms that greenhouse gas emissions harm our health and welfare, Trump’s EPA would hand fossil fuel companies a free pass to spew climate pollution into our air. He’s also ending the program that required big polluters to report their pollution, making it nearly impossible to track what they’re spewing or hold them accountable.
Decades of established pollution protections are being peeled away. More than a dozen rules that keep toxic pollution out of the air we breathe and water we drink to protect our health are on the chopping block, tossed aside to allow fossil fueled power plants to cut corners and shift the burden of their damage onto our communities.
The Trump administration is giving away the Arctic to corporate polluters, working to allow more drilling in one of the planet’s last intact ecosystems. Mining roads carved through national parks and preserves. Fire-sale auctions in critical ecosystems. Hundreds of millions of acres of U.S. waters off Alaska potentially opened to drilling. It could do irreparable damage to wildlife, our climate, and Alaska Native communities. We’re working every day with our 30 state affiliates, organizing on the ground, exposing backroom deals and corruption, rallying voters, and defending the treasured and unique places that define our country. But meeting this moment requires resources — especially as we go up against big polluters and fossil fuel opponents. This $100,000 match challenge, and how many people step up this Giving Tuesday, will determine how hard we can push back. Friend, your renewal right now powers our work to protect people and the planet. Will you renew before MIDNIGHT TONIGHT to help keep this movement strong when it matters most? $5 is all it takes.
