When Mikela entered fifth grade, she jumped at the chance to join Playworks’ Junior Coach Leadership Program. On the playground, she helped ensure younger students experience the joy of play every day.
One day, she met Stella, a young kindergartner bursting with energy. Their shared love of tag and running turned into a daily bond that sparked Stella’s excitement for play.
Mikela also grew close with Kimberly, another Junior Coach. What started as shared laughter and a passion for helping others became a sister-like friendship, rooted in their love of bringing joy to younger students on the playground.
