John,

I've seen mothers sit beside their sick babies, clinging to hope.

I've talked with fathers who've skipped meals so their daughters and sons can eat—even if it's just a few bites of bread.

I've held children too weak and malnourished to even flinch as the ground shook after an airstrike.

I'm an International Rescue Committee (IRC) Senior Nutrition Manager. I'm also a parent—displaced in Gaza, struggling to keep my kids safe, healthy and fed.

This Giving Tuesday, I'm writing to ask for your help.

When we learned of the ceasefire, my fellow team members and I here in Gaza felt a spark of hope. The IRC is doing everything in our power to transform that spark into sustained relief. But we can't do it alone.

I hope you'll donate before midnight to send 5X the critical and life-changing aid to Gaza and crisis zones around the world. »

Families who endured multiple displacements are returning to neighborhoods with little food and destroyed hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. Communities are just surviving, with alarming levels of malnutrition and trauma reported.

Colder temperatures will add another burden. Starving children don't have the strength to survive a cold or the flu. The tents that many displaced families live in are no match for the season's downpours, winds and floods.

As an IRC team member and a dad who wants a more peaceful world for my two daughters, I consider it my duty to protect children when conflicts and crises create impossible conditions for families.

Until midnight tonight, matching funds will 5X multiply your gift to help the IRC scale up our emergency response efforts—providing water, health care, nutrition services and other humanitarian aid in crisis zones like Gaza and around the world.

Your kind and generous support will also reach refugees and displaced families across the globe with the resources they need to survive, recover and rebuild their lives.

Every hour matters, so please don't wait another moment to donate.
