Every day, I wake up ready to fight for public education. As a mom and former social worker, I know how much our students rely on and thrive in Arizona’s public schools. I raised 5 kids in rural Arizona — believe me, I know how much rural families count on and need their local public schools. And trust me when I say that I will never stop fighting for our kids and our future.
But in Arizona, there are dark forces at play. These special interests are pushing vouchers in an attempt to privatize our public schools. They force in “reforms” that hurt our children, they spread false narratives around indoctrination, and they stoke fear. They discredit our public schools and sow division in our communities — all to dismantle public education.
This is why having an organization like SOSAZ Network doing the work we are doing is so critical. We must push back against these dangerous narratives at every turn, in every community across the state.
