When I was a child in Freeport, my friends and I organized our first campaign—to ban polystyrene foam. We marched, testified, and even faced corporate lawyers from Washington, D.C. We didn’t know kids weren’t “supposed” to do that—but we knew change was possible when people spoke up.
Today, the environment in Maine and our democracy face new threats: disinformation, rising authoritarianism, and rollbacks on hard-won protections. Climate action and a healthy democracy go hand-in-hand—without accountable leaders and an engaged public, we cannot protect our communities, forests, or coastlines.
MCV gives Mainers the tools, information, and power to fight for a healthy environment and a strong democracy.
This Giving Tuesday, your gift matters. We have a goal to secure 50 donations before the end of the day, unlocking an additional $5,000 from another generous member. Monthly donations count 12x’s for every month of the year!
Stand with us to protect Maine’s future—the lands, air, waters, wildlife, and our democracy.
With gratitude,
