Dear John, Polls are increasingly showing that a majority of Americans are on the side of peace. This poses a major threat to the U.S. war economy and the systems that uphold it: patriarchy and imperialism. The more the public turns against war, the more the ruling class will try to repress the anti-war movement. 💰 They’ve slandered us, accusing us of being funded by a foreign government (we’re not, we’re funded by peace activists). 🔍 They’ve called for formal investigations into our organization on many occasions (bring it on, we have nothing to hide). 🗣️ The president spoke about activists like CODEPINK and said, “They should be thrown in jail,” (already been there for causing beautiful trouble). Right now, we are actively resisting fascism, and need your support more than ever before. Challenging authoritarianism gets expensive — between hiring movement lawyers and making sure we don’t slow down our campaign work in the face of these attacks.
