According to a recent Trevor study, LGBTQ+ young people’s mental health is declining. The number of LGBTQ+ youth experiencing anxiety symptoms rose from 57% to 68%; depressive symptoms climbed from 48% to 54%; and suicidal ideation grew from 41% to 47%.

This is a crisis.

At Trevor, we don’t want a single LGBTQ+ young person to go without a trusted parent, teacher, coach, faith leader, school counselor, or other adult who supports them just as they are. For us, that starts with our crisis counselors: dedicated staff and volunteers who are available 24/7/365.

We know the support we offer can be life-saving. When LGBTQ+ young people report feeling accepted by just one adult, their odds of attempting suicide are significantly lower. In many instances, by more than 40% according to Trevor research.
