John,
Donald Trump’s brash decision to rig the maps in 2026 could backfire on him spectacularly.
Here’s where things stand right now:
In November, California, under Gov. Gavin Newsom’s leadership successfully passed a redistricting law in November which passed with 65% of the vote.
Then, Virginia Democrats announced a bold plan to redraw their maps and eliminate as many as 4-5 GOP seats.
But it’s not nearly enough, with all of the red states Trump is gerrymandering, California and Virginia are but a drop in the bucket.
It is on us to pick up the torch from where they left off. With the GOP preparing a gerrymander in Florida that could take as many as a dozen seats, blue states like Colorado have a duty to redistrict and level the playing field. They started it and we must finish it if we hope to survive until 2028 with our Democracy intact.
Today Fair Fight Colorado launched the ballot initiative that will give Coloradans a chance to vote on redrawing Colorado’s maps — but our effort will be Dead On Arrival unless we can harness the grassroots energy and enthusiasm this situation calls for.
Trump is betting that we won’t have the guts do this. We have our backs to the wall and we desperately need your support to pull this off. We need as many people giving $25, $10, or whatever amount is meaningful to them, to make redistricting in Colorado a reality:
