Hey --
Tomorrow, the citizens of Montgomery, Alabama, will have the chance to elect their first Black mayor -- Probate Judge Steven Reed. We wanted to see if we can count on you to rush a donation to Steven Reed’s election campaign before tomorrow, and here’s why:
Steven Reed is running on a platform that puts Montgomerians first.
If elected, Steven promises to tackle the issues facing Montgomery -- creating pathways to homeownership for low-income and middle-class families, investing in Montgomery’s schools, decriminalizing mental health and homelessness, and investing in safer communities and avenues to economic sustainability.
The Collective has Steven Reed’s back because he’s proven to be a true public servant and leader. Will you help Steven cross the finish line so he can start fighting for Montgomery right away? Rush a $5 donation to help Steven’s team reach key voters in the final hours leading up to Election Day and elect Montgomery’s first Black mayor.
Look, Montgomery is Steven’s home, and, as Probate Judge, Steven has proven he knows how to put people first.
He expanded access to mental health resources for Montgomerians, helping hundreds of people get the treatment and services they need instead of spending time in jail. He fought for marriage equality in a red state. And he took it upon himself to ensure all voters were educated and aware of new voter ID laws -- laws that often bar Black voters from making their voices heard.
Here at The Collective, we believe in building Black political power at all levels of government. So we’re not standing on the sidelines of this historical race and neither should you.
Help Steven Reed build a future for a town with rich African American history. Chip in before Election Day tomorrow to help The Collective elect Montgomery’s first Black mayor.
Thank you for being a part of this work,
The Collective Team
