ACLU Supporter, I am an unapologetically queer and Black social justice advocate and community organizer. I am also the Deputy Executive Director for Strategy & Culture at the ACLU.

Before I ask for your support ahead of one of the biggest days of the year, I want to share three reasons why it's so important this Giving Tuesday.

1. The ACLU is on the front lines of the fight for civil liberties. Just two hours after President Trump was sworn in, my colleagues sued to stop his dangerous actions to end birthright citizenship. Since then, we've taken more than 200 legal actions, and we're winning. In more than 70% of our cases, we have already successfully defeated, diluted, or delayed President Trump's agenda.
2. Right now – this moment – is the fight of all of our lives, ACLU Supporter. Because an attack on any of our rights is an attack on all of us. Immigrants' rights, free speech, LGBTQ rights, and our very democracy are under threat like never before – and the ACLU needs YOUR ongoing support to keep fighting back.
3. In honor of Giving Tuesday, every dollar you give will go toward our critical $1 million goal. That's the amount that will ensure our lawyers have the resources to keep challenging the Trump administration in courtrooms across the country. With so much at stake, we really can't afford to fall short.
