You're invited to the best party of the year 🥂
Here at PPT, we believe that the hard work of community organizing is made sweeter when we make time to celebrate, relax, and enjoy each other's friendship. So that's what we do, twice a year—and it's time for our annual Year End Transit Justice Victory Party on Friday, December 12th!
We'll have dinner, dancing, and the best company around—plus the opportunity to reflect on all our incredible wins this year, and dream up our next big campaigns. (Plus, this year there's some extra-special limited-edition merch you won't want to miss!)
Tickets are limited, so reserve your spot now! [[link removed]]

Image Description: an illustration by PPT member Névé Monroe-Anderson of the Pittsburgh Skyline at night, in deep purple and blue. In the dark purple sky is written "PPT's 2025 Year End Member Drive: Building New Constellations of Power", decorated with yellow stars. Below is an illustration of three teens on a bus stop bench, pointing up at the sky.
Build PPT's power during our Year-End Member Drive!
With riders and workers together, we’re building new constellations of power. We’ve faced bigger threats to our system, and grown our movement more, than ever before.
There’s never been a better time to join our fight. Will you join our movement by becoming a dues-paying member or renewing your donation? [[link removed]]
This year, our biggest fundraiser of the year has a special twist:
Every contribution to our 2025 Year End Membership Drive will be matched up to $20,000 by a local foundation.
If you donate $5, it’ll magically become $10. $500 will become $1,000!

Image Description: Black text reads "Allegheny Go Enroll-a-thon"; below it is highlighted text reading "Receive SNAP benefits? You and your family can ride PRT for 50% off with Allegheny Go!". The graphic is decorated with red starbursts.
Get enrolled for Allegheny Go!
Allegheny Go is a landmark reduced-fare program for low income riders that we helped win in 2023 [[link removed]] . Anyone who receives SNAP benefits is eligible for 50% off all of their transit fares, but they must apply in order to receive the benefit.
That's where we come in: Join PPT's Hilltop Transit Fellows for an Allegheny Go Enroll-a-thon [[link removed]] on Wednesday, December 10th from 5-7 PM at the Knoxville Library! We'll help folks determine eligibility and complete an application on the spot. We'll also have snacks available!

Image Description: a group of transit advocates stand in the Pittsburgh City Council chambers, holding colorful signs and a proclamation. Highlighted black text above them reads "ACTION ALERT: City Council must pass PRTner Pass!
Amid city budget uncertainty, one thing's for sure: PRTner pass for city employees is a great deal!
The City of Pittsburgh is in the final stretch of its budgeting process for 2026, and many programs are being weighed for elimination [[link removed]] .
One line item that needs to stay? The mayor's proposal to buy deeply discounted transit passes for all City employees, through PRT's new PRTner pass program [[link removed]] .
The PRTner pass is a good investment for the City, promoting worker hiring and retention goals, reducing Downtown congestion, and freeing up Downtown parking spaces for more revenue. It's also a slam dunk for workers, who would receive transit passes as part of their benefit packages—and for PRT!
The final hearing on the City's 2026 budget is next week. We need your help to show City Council that the PRTner Pass is what our City employees need. Can you send a letter of support using our form? [[link removed]]
Tell City Council: Pass the PRTner Pass! [[link removed]]

Image Description: a red PRT bus under a dark overpass at night, with its headlights on and ramp extended. To the right is white text reading “We need service that serves us: PRT’s annual service report fails to acknowledge ridership, reliability crises”, decorated with a red starburst.
PRT's annual service report is out, and it's...not great.
PRT's 2025 report shows that Pittsburgh is one of the only transit markets in the US which has not recovered ridership and service recovery since the pandemic. In fact, our ridership has declined this year for the second year in a row, and only about a third of our buses arrive on time. But PRT isn't acknowledging the crisis, or proposing appropriate solutions.
PRT wants to fix these issues by redesigning our entire bus network, but we think these problems can be fixed now with common-sense service improvements. Read more about our take on the report here. [[link removed]]

Rest in Power, Paul ❤️‍🔥
[[link removed]] Today we mourn the recent passing of current PPT Board member and founder Paul O'Hanlon.
Image Description: Paul O'Hanlon in the Pittsburgh City Council chambers, holding a teal poster reading "Housing is a Human Right". Paul was powerful organizer for human rights, with a clear understanding of how our movements for disability justice, transit justice, housing justice and voting rights are connected and necessary. He was courageous, smart, committed and supportive, and he has mentored so many in bringing their power to the light.
We will miss Paul deeply, and offer PPT's love and community to his family in this difficult time. Information about services and condolences can be found at Paul's obituary. [[link removed]]
