We are bursting with hope.
In the face of overwhelming odds and incredible pain, Charles Booker and the movement showed everyone what Kentucky is made of. Today, he shared his next step: Hood to the Holler. Building on the movement that nearly overcame the limitless corporate funding that proved decisive in the recent primary, Hood to the Holler will channel the desperate demand for positive change in Kentucky—and beyond.
Tearing down racial barriers, safeguarding voting rights and ballot access, lifting up new leaders, and ending poverty are central to our values and our work. This is how we win the future.
Building sustainable progressive power in our communities, win or lose, is what separates Charles—and us, John—from those who lay claim to our values when it’s politically convenient, but who never stand with us in the streets.
Our work is just beginning. As Charles points out, Breonna’s door can still be kicked in and we still have leaders in Washington who don’t care if we die.
