A criminal record can derail a #humantrafficking survivor’s long-term recovery. Often, survivors are forced to commit crimes by their traffickers. Even after they escape, these survivors are weighed down by unjust criminal records and often lose jobs, housing, and even custody of their children. They also bear the burden of being labeled a criminal, instead of being uplifted as a survivor.
Our Survivor Reentry Project (SRP) is the only national program that provides criminal record relief to human trafficking survivors. We connect survivors to a trained nationwide network of pro bono lawyers to clear those records and restore their rights and safety.
