I blocked Joe Biden from giving citizenship to Afghan migrants and why I’ve led the fight for the RAISE Act, which would deliver a merit-based immigration system.
Remember, Biden let Afghanistan collapse. Then he rushed thousands of unvetted Afghan nationals into our country.
He wanted to give them immediate citizenship, but I stopped him.
Migrants from third-world countries — like the terrorist who attacked the National Guard in DC — are a national security threat. Real vetting is nearly impossible when the home country is a failed state that doesn’t keep records.
Beyond that, the vast majority of migrants that Biden and Democrats invited in are a drain on our public resources. They go on welfare.
They use schools and hospital ER rooms without paying. Instead, Arkansans pay for it.
We need to revisit the vetting standards for all countries of concern.
We need to stop letting people into this country who don’t have the means to provide for themselves.
And we need to change our immigration system to one based on merit.
I’ll continue fighting for immigration policies that put America first, no matter what the politically correct mob thinks about it.
In service,
Tom Cotton
Meet Tom Cotton
After 9/11, Tom Cotton joined the U.S. Army, serving multiple combat tours and in the Old Guard at Arlington National Cemetery.
In the U.S. Senate, he’s fighting for Arkansans and Americans, standing up to the Marxist Left, and building a movement to make America strong again.
Our movement depends on support from working Americans pitching in what they can, when they can. With 2026 coming soon, Tom is counting on tough conservatives across the country to help him build a campaign that can win.
Senator Cotton was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.
