Dear John, 

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday. On this global day of generosity, I’m asking for your help to protect the health and future of my generation.

At the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, we advocate for strong public health policies and programs that protect kids and save lives. But across the U.S. and around the world, these lifesaving public health initiatives are under attack — and the tobacco industry continues to introduce new products designed to attract and addict young people.

For me, this work is personal.

I became an advocate at age 11 after watching my grandfather suffer from the lifelong effects of smoking, which he started as a child. His struggle pushed me to speak out, organize my peers, and take on Big Tobacco’s targeting of kids. Today, I continue that fight as a Tobacco-Free Kids Youth Ambassador and Board Member.

Through this experience, I’ve learned that great change doesn't always have to come from great power; it's the little, everyday things that make a difference. Nothing embodies that spirit more than Giving Tuesday.
