** Hello, friends.
------------------------------------------------------------

Since we last wrote you, the struggle against immigration enforcement has intensified across the country again. We've published two new reports on the successes and challenges of organizing to defeat ICE's kidnapping campaign. In Minneapolis ([link removed]) , hundreds of rapid responders assembled for the second time this year to disrupt and undermine an ICE operation.
In the Chicago suburbs, protestors have staged protracted demonstrations outside the Broadview Detention Center since September ([link removed]) .
** "The violence that the Trump administration is perpetrating against people is not the consequence of the resistance that people are engaging in; it is the consequence of the fact that not enough people are engaging in open resistance yet."

In a new article ([link removed]) , participants analyze facing down ICE at the detention centers they depend on to conduct deportations. They write, "when ICE agents encounter resistance in the streets, they can simply go elsewhere, and they often do. But their holding facilities represent… “fixed assets,” investments that can’t easily be transferred, so obstructing these can create a bottleneck. While we don’t have precise data, observers reported that the protests at Broadview did diminish ICE activity in the neighborhoods…
** The more that federal agents have to deal with at their home base, the less they can do out in the city.”

People around North Carolina responded to the ICE crackdown with a wave of rapid response organizing and protest activity, drawing on tactics developed in Chicago and Los Angeles. Within a few days, Gregory Bovino and the other officers involved were on their way out of the state.

Likewise, on November 29, hundreds of people in New York City responded to an ICE operation, successfully blocking it and driving the despicable mercenaries out of the city entirely. Though ICE is returning to North Carolina and will surely return to New York as well, both of these examples show the power of people acting together to defend their communities against bounty hunters. If we fight, we can win.
** In case you missed it…

“To remember is to fight.”
A new essay remembers Timur Kacharava ([link removed]) , a Russian anti-fascist and musician who was murdered in 2005 by neo-Nazis. Timur’s bandmates from Sandinista! write on their friendship, his passing, anti-fascism and the doxa of today.

** “Our spontaneous rejection of the world around us took on a constructive shape for the first time in our embracing of hardcore punk and DIY ethics. Music ceased to be an end in itself and became a form of being-together, a tool for building a community that existed according to its own autonomous rules in spite of cultural differences and state borders.”

** What We’re Doing
------------------------------------------------------------
All of our projects are copyright free. We distribute them for free, or else, where that is impossible, sell print versions for the costs of production and delivery alone. We do this work freely, without seeking financial compensation. The future of our species and of all life on earth is more important to each of us than turning a profit at others’ expense. True wealth is collective, not individualistic.
If you want to help us expand the scope of our efforts, you can support our projects financially ([link removed]) . But the most important thing right now is to form networks that are capable of mutual aid, collective defense, and transformative revolutionary change. Find people who share your desire for a better world and practice taking action ([link removed]) together.
