Hi there,
You’ve probably seen me on screen – maybe as Marcia Brady in The Brady Bunch or dancing across the stage in Dancing with the Stars. I’ve worn a lot of hats over the years, but the one that means most to me? Sister.
That’s what brought me to Special Olympics. And it’s why I’m so proud to be part of a loving community where everyone is accepted, encouraged, and celebrated for exactly who they are.
Today, I’m inviting you to be part of it, too. Right now, in honor of Giving Tuesday, your gift will be 3X MATCHED thanks to Special Olympics’ Founding Partner, The Coca-Cola Company. Please donate now!
When my brother, Denny, joined Special Olympics all those decades ago, everything changed. This movement’s generosity and spirit means millions of families like ours can experience that same kind of joy and belonging from the very first moment on the field.
This year Denny turns 74 years old. Every day of his life, he has shown me what real courage looks like. The quiet kind. The resilient kind. The kind that shows up with love and light, even when the world doesn’t always understand.
We live in a time when people with intellectual disabilities (ID) still face misunderstanding and exclusion. Even the language we sometimes hear out in the world reminds us just how far we have to go. For me, I choose to double down on what matters: love, respect, and the power of community.
That’s what Special Olympics stands for. It is what your Giving Tuesday gift can stand for, too. If you can, make your Giving Tuesday gift now and TRIPLE your impact for Special Olympics families just like mine.
Thank you for all you do for inclusion,
Maureen McCormick
Special Olympics Global Ambassador
