John, please know that when I ask you to chip in, I don't expect you to give every time. Just having you on my team, reading emails like this, means so much.

That’s especially true when Trump and his administration attack me. Especially when they invoke my name and threaten to go after me. Especially when the troves of MAGA followers amplify the president's false smears and attacks.
