Our thoughts and prayers will always be with Gilroy, El Paso, Dayton, and every community who has faced the reality of gun violence in this country. But as the violence increases, thoughts and prayers just aren't enough anymore.
In the wake of these recent mass shootings, the critical conversation of gun reform continues. Senator Joni Ernst has been silent on gun violence, has consistently opposed gun control policies and has received $3.1 million from the NRA — ranking in the top 10 U.S. senators with such lavish support from big industry.
She's the darling of the NRA, and that's 3.1 million reasons why I'm running for the United States Senate. Joni Ernst is bought and paid for by the gun industry; has proved to us over and over again she does NOT represent Iowans but puts big corporations first. That's why I'm running.
We need to end the gridlock that’s preventing common-sense gun legislation from moving forward in the Senate — can you chip in $5, $10 or whatever you can spare today to help my campaign against Joni?
This can’t be swept under the rug. We need comprehensive gun reform now. Firearms are the second leading cause of death for American children and teens. There have been 271 mass shootings in 2019 as of today, and LGBTQ and black hate crimes are on the rise.
For too long, the gun lobby and senators like Joni Ernst have distorted our Second Amendment right and dictate our nation's gun policy. She’s received more than $3.1 million from the NRA and won’t take a stand. She has consistently voted against gun violence prevention policies like universal background checks, red flag laws, and restrictions on the purchase, possession, and manufacture of high-capacity magazines.
