John, it’s Governor Josh Stein.

I want to take a moment to tell you why I’m standing with Valerie Foushee — and why I hope you will too.

Valerie and I grew up in the same town, went to the same high school, and served together in the State Senate. I’ve seen firsthand her dedication, her compassion, and her commitment to doing what’s right for our communities.

She has spent her life in public service, from advocating for North Carolina families on the Chapel Hill–Carrboro City Schools Board, to leading on the Orange County Board of Commissioners, and representing her neighbors in the North Carolina State House and State Senate.

Now, in Washington, she never stops working to make our state and our country a better place. She fights every day for the issues that matter most to our families: quality education, accessible health care, and our fundamental rights.

She has proven time and again that she won’t back down from these important fights. She leads with integrity, determination, and a clear focus on serving the people of North Carolina.
